The Lenawee Department on Aging has many opportunities.
Home Delivered Meals: Meals are delivered to homebound older persons from meal sites in Addison, Adrian, Blissfield, Hudson, Morenci, Onsted and Tecumseh. Routes take about one hour to deliver. Drivers are invited to stay for lunch at no charge. The Department on Aging reimburses mileage at the current Federal reimbursement rate.
Volunteer Medical Transportation: Volunteers use their own vehicles to take older persons to non-emergency medical appointments. Drivers are reimbursed at the current Federal reimbursement rate.
Michigan Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program: MMAP counselors are specialists trained in Medicare and Medicaid law to assist with health insurance counseling issues.
Senior Centers: A wide range of volunteer opportunities exist at senior centers in Addison, Adrian, Blissfield, Hudson, Morenci, Onsted and Tecumseh.
Daybreak: Volunteers can work one-on-one to visit or assist with activities with participants. You might play cards, talk, walk the hall, or even play ping pong!
