Every September, Adult Day Services Week shines a spotlight on programs across the country that provide essential care and connection for older adults—and much-needed relief for caregivers. Here in Lenawee County, we’re proud to offer Daybreak Adult Day Services, a place where participants can thrive in a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment.
What Are Adult Day Services?
Adult day programs give older adults—especially those living with physical challenges, chronic health conditions, memory concerns, or mental health needs—a place to stay active, connected, and supported. These programs also give caregivers peace of mind and the opportunity to balance work, family, and personal responsibilities while knowing their loved one is receiving excellent care.
A Look Inside Daybreak Adult Day Services
Located at 327 Erie Street in Adrian, Daybreak offers respite care Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Participants enjoy more than just a safe place to spend the day—they’re welcomed into a vibrant, “club-like” community where laughter, friendship, and fun are part of the daily routine.
From nutritious meals and snacks to individualized care plans, Daybreak focuses on the unique needs of every participant. Our dedicated team works closely with families to understand each person’s abilities, preferences, and goals, creating opportunities to engage and grow.
Activities That Inspire Connection and Joy
Each day at Daybreak is filled with activities designed to support independence and enhance well-being, such as:
- Gentle exercise sessions to promote mobility
- Arts and crafts that spark creativity
- Music and pet therapy to encourage emotional connection
- Cooking projects and discussion groups that inspire curiosity
- Special events and entertainment for added fun
Being located in the same building as the Adrian Senior Center also allows participants to enjoy joint programs, expanding opportunities for social interaction and community involvement.
Affordable Care That Makes a Difference
We understand that caring for a loved one can be overwhelming, and affordability shouldn’t stand in the way of getting help. As part of the Lenawee Department on Aging, Daybreak is supported by grant funding and the Lenawee Senior Millage, which allows us to offer sliding-scale fees to keep services accessible for local families.
For many, adult day services are the key to keeping loved ones at home longer while ensuring they receive the personalized care and social engagement they need.
