Caregiver Support Group "5 Different Types of Dementia & Journaling as a Caregiver"

Department on Aging Posted on March 18, 2026

The Lenawee Department on Aging invites all caregivers to join us for our next Caregiver Support Group on Monday, April 6 at 2:00 PM at Daybreak Adult Day Services, located at 327 Erie Street in Adrian.

This month’s session will be facilitated by Kathy Johnston Betzoldt, M.A., L.P.C., and will explore the topic: “5 Types of Dementia & Journaling as a Caregiver.” Participants will gain a clearer understanding of five common types of dementia and how each may impact behavior, memory, and daily life. The session will also highlight the value of journaling as a caregiving tool — offering practical ways to reduce stress, track changes, reflect on experiences, and process emotions along the journey. This discussion is designed to provide both education and encouragement in a supportive environment.

Whether you’re caring for a parent, spouse, or friend, this group is a welcoming space to find encouragement, share experiences, and gain tools to care for both your loved one and yourself.

Free respite care is available during the meeting—please call 517-266-2588 to reserve a spot or ask questions.
