[ARCHIVED] 2025 Operation Green Light for Veterans

Operation Green Light

In advance of the upcoming Veterans Day holiday, Lenawee County is pleased to announce plans to illuminate the dome green inside the Old County Courthouse from November 4-11 as part of Operation Green Light for Veterans, a nationwide effort uniting counties to honor and support military veterans.

Led by the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers, Operation Green Light brings attention to the challenges many veterans face and highlights the resources available through county, state, and federal programs to assist them and their families.

Now in its fourth year, Operation Green Light continues to grow as communities across the country show their gratitude to those who have served.

“When we light our courthouse dome green, it’s a simple but powerful reminder that veterans are at the heart of our community,” said Kim Murphy, Lenawee County Administrator. “Their service and sacrifice inspire us all, and Operation Green Light is one way we can show our appreciation and raise awareness about the support available to them.”

In addition to lighting the courthouse dome, Lenawee County encourages residents, businesses, and organizations to take part by replacing one light bulb—inside or outside—with a green bulb. By shining a green light, we send a visible message that our veterans are seen, valued, and supported.
