[ARCHIVED] Compassion Meditations for the Caregiver: Connecting to What Matters Most

caregiver_meditation_flyer-2

Caring for a loved one is a profound act of love and dedication, but it can also be overwhelming. At times, caregivers may feel disconnected from the very things that bring them comfort, joy, and a sense of purpose. Recognizing this challenge, the Lenawee Department on Aging is offering Compassion Meditations for the Caregiver, a special program designed to help caregivers reconnect with what sustains them through difficult times.

Presented by Brenda Cole, PhD, this six-session program introduces participants to compassion-based meditation techniques specifically tailored for caregivers. Based on the work of Dr. John Makransky, founder of Sustainable Compassion Training, these guided meditations focus on restoring a sense of well-being, resilience, and inner peace for those in caregiving roles.

Program Details

The program consists of six sessions, beginning May 14th. Sessions will alternate between in-person at Daybreak and Zoom formats, making it accessible to all participants. Respite care will be available for in-person sessions, ensuring that caregivers can attend without worry.
