The Lenawee Department on Aging salutes volunteers!
As the Nutrition Director, I see the impact of volunteer dedication every day. The kitchen staff of the seven senior centers are amazing at preparing over nine hundred meals each day for older adults in our community. Over seven hundred of those meals are distributed throughout the county to those that are home bound and their primary caregivers by way of volunteer drivers.
The Department on Aging relies on thirty two volunteers each day. In exchange we do offer mileage reimbursement and a wonderful meal upon returning to the center. If you or someone you know might have an hour to spare once in a while, once a month, once a week, or every week day, encourage a call to our office to find out more – 264-5280.
