The Lenawee County Office of the Public Defender is a Public County Organization that Is committed to excellence in the representation of indigent citizens charged with  misdemeanor and felonies.

We have an experienced staff of attorneys whose sole function is to represent those defendants assigned to this office by the Court.  Our personnel policy prohibits the attorneys from doing legal work outside of cases assigned by the Court.  As a result, our sole focus and effort is directed toward our indigent client,  and not retained client or other legal matters.

Further, this office is committed to maintaining the attorney-client privilege.

We cannot and will not discuss our client’s cases with anyone including family members or significant others.
